Just when you think you haven’t heard of any new works by guerrilla sculptor Mihajlo Kolodko, two come along at once. The artist known for creating charming, ironic figures and leaving them in apt locations around Budapest has even made a video of his latest escapade, a toy Trabant car parked on a wall on the Buda side of Margaret Bridge.
Days after we reported that urban sculptor Mihajlo Kolodko had left a mini cartoon character from the 1980s by the Skála Metró store opposite Nyugati station, now a limestone likeness of a wind-up Trabant car can be found close to Margaret Bridge.
Trabant cars were produced in East Germany during the Communist era and symbolised the poor quality of its production techniques.
