The renovated Corvin Department Store on Blaha Lujza tér is expected to reopen in spring 2023. Stores will line the lower levels, with offices on the upper floors. Its outer covering has long been removed, allowing passers-by to glimpse at how one of the most elegant shopping meccas in Hungary used to look.

In 2018, the aluminium cladding around the Corvin Department Store was removed to unveil the classical, palace-like façade of what was one of the most elegant retail institutions in Hungary.

Renovation has been going on ever since, but now the finished building is expected to reopen next spring, containing shops and offices.

Floors -1, 0 and 1 will have commercial and catering functions, while offices will be set up between floors 2 and 5. The façade will feature reliefs and ornamentation, and the store’s former ornamental courtyard will also be renewed.
