Four palaces in Budapest have been covered in gold while essential renovation work is carried out. The buildings in the city centre are all in a state of disrepair and, rather than ugly scaffolding or wooden boards, the designers decided to give the properties the touch of class they deserve.

Hajós, originally created the four buildings now being renovated by architectural
firm Pyxis Nautica.
Kincsem Palace on Reáltanoda utca was designed by Gyula Bukovics, commissioned by Ernő Blaskovich, who also owned the famous champion racehorse of the same name. The thoroughbred’s stables stood in the courtyard.
