After nearly five years of renovation, Budapest’s grand Opera House will reopen on 12 March with a gala performance starring Plácido Domingo. Two days later, the Hungarian National Ballet return with a lavish performance of Mayerling by Sir Kenneth MacMillan.

Plácido Domingo will be among the guests when the Opera House reopens on 12 March, conducting a gala performance along with Ádám Medveczky and Gergely Kesselyák.

Spain’s great star also returns to the Opera House stage in a singing role, with Sir Willard White, Matthew Polenzani and Erwin Schrott also lined up.
