A seven-hectare park at Pünkösdfürdő in Óbuda will soon be ready for use, featuring a total of 685 trees, creating shade near the Danube shore. This sustainable green area will allow locals to relax and play sports, while flood protection infrastructure will also be installed.

The new park at Pünkösdfürdő will be divided into different sections, with a children’s playground, sports and picnic areas, a pétanque court, an interactive nature trail, rest areas for cyclists and an outdoor fitness park. Completion is expected by the end of 2021.

Nature in the city

During the creation of the park, we paid special attention to strengthening ecological diversity. This pioneering project shows that not only can ornamental parks be created in the city, but nature can be let back in, too,” said Budapest Deputy Mayor Gábor Kerpel-Fronius.
