Easter will soon be here! Even though everyone will be spending the long weekend at home this year, you needn't miss out on your traditional Easter feast. The InterContinental Budapest has created a special menu, to be picked up or home-delivered. So, if you don’t feel like spending your weekend in the kitchen, you can leave everything in the capable hands of the hotel chefs, who will prepare a top-quality holiday meal with all the trimmings!

This year, you can still enjoy the traditional flavours of Easter thanks to the delicious, ready-to-serve dishes created by the InterContinental Budapest, guaranteed to create a festive atmosphere at home. There's even a complimentary bottle of wine to accompany the ham or lamb option.

Easter wouldn't be Easter without an Easter ham, a farmer's variety smoked and cooked whole, with horseradish sauce, parsley potatoes and braided bread.

If you prefer a more classic restaurant dish, you may want to start with something particularly seasonal – green-pea cream soup – crowned with seared chanterelle and morel mushrooms. Lamb shoulder with rosemary is another great choice, served with garlic mashed potatoes, oven-baked carrots and steamed vegetables.

Both of these main options, the farmer's ham and the lamb shoulder, come with a bottle of wine thrown in, a red Lisicza Ravasz cuvée (2019) or a white Molnár Mátrai Olaszrizling (2019).

Alternatively, the ham platter is essential to any festive spread and Easter menu: traditionally smoked and cooked farmer’s ham served cold, air-dried Parma ham, boiled eggs, crispy spring vegetables, homemade braided bread and many more delicacies.

Of course, dessert should also feature on the festive table, in the form of a very special chocolate Easter egg, containing mango-apricots and cream cheese.

This essentially traditional Hungarian Easter menu has been put together by the chefs at the InterContinental Budapest, but the offer also includes vegetarian dishes, so those avoiding meat won’t be left out of the Easter celebrations.

The Easter offer runs from 1 to 5 April, and whether the feast is for two or the whole family, the dishes serve two to three people, three to four or even up to ten upon request. You can also order single servings of any main course, soup or dessert from the Easter menu, as an additional dish.

Easter menus can be picked up from the hotel restaurant, or a taxi delivery can also be requested. Orders should be placed before 5 April by calling 06 1 327 6392 or emailing corso.restaurant@ihg.com at least 48 hours before collecting your feast or having it delivered.
