Budapest’s biggest beer terrace has just opened by the riverside Bálna complex, just in time for big-screen broadcasts of the Euros. No fewer than 50 beer taps await guests every day.

More beer festival than outdoor bar, the new waterfront attraction at the Bálna features 50 continuously working beer taps. These are divided into three areas: Budapest’s FIRST & Scots Brewdog beers on the FIRST Terrace, Belgian varieties on the terrace of the Belga Sörház, and all kinds of specialities at the Magyar Kraft & Importsörház.

The FIRST Terrace has the widest range, 20 beer taps in total, several IPAs and FIRST’s flagship Mango Juice among them. Almost all popular domestic craft-beer brands, in fact, such as MONYO, Szent András, Szia Uram! and Frootie, plus Czech Bernard, German Erdinger and Catalan Estrella. The selection is constantly updated.

Wine from Divino, and a varied selection of gins and rums, plus lemonades, also feature, along with Tuning burgers and BBQ delicacies.

A huge LED wall beams Euro action, such as tonight’s game between Hungary and Germany – for non-match nights, you’ll have to make do with a stunning sunset over Gellért Hill.
