Acting as a large open-air hangout area within popular concert venue Budapest Park, ParkKert has its soft opening on Thursday, 28 May, at 4pm. Initial plans see it running until 6 June.

According to government regulations, concerts can’t be held in Hungary until 15 August at least. With finances a worry, everyone is trying to find their own solution to adapting to the situation that is both safe yet effective. The team at Budapest Park have decided to replace their dance arenas with tables and chairs, and create a massive open-air hangout.

Opening this Thursday, 28 May, and initially running until 6 June, a pilot operation will involve a spacious layout and regular hygienic cleaning, with hand sanitisers available as well as infographics concerning social distancing. In this first phase, ParkKert will be run between 4pm and 11pm.
