Asking readers to stay at home is not an everyday request from our kind of magazine, whose aim is to get people out and about. But right now, circumstances have changed, and we are asking everyone to follow the rules of social distancing.
We find ourselves in a strange position due to the circumstances caused by the coronavirus outbreak. For years, We Love Budapest and We Love Balaton have endeavoured to help people explore and enjoy the colourful life in Hungary’s capital and main holiday getaway destination, offering insights into all sorts of events and happenings, the best restaurants, cultural highlights and outdoor attractions. We will continue to do so, but for now, everything has changed. Despite our former appeals for everyone to go out, explore and enjoy… we now realise that currently we need to ask you to stay at home.
The teams at We Love Budapest and We Love Balaton have decided to join the nationwide movement urging everyone to stay at home, as other printed and online publications have done. We ask you to take care of yourself and others through social distancing. The coronavirus spreads very easily, and many are infected long before they show symptoms. The best way to combat it from getting more out of hand is by isolating ourselves.
We are also working from home, individually, and will be trying to display life in Budapest and at Balaton in a new light during the crisis. The vibrant culinary and cultural life here in the capital and at the lake hasn’t gone away – for the time being, it needs to be experienced in a different way.
And that, again, is where we come in.
We ask our readers to stay safe and stay healthy, for all our sakes – we will all get through this together.
