Going to the gym can sometimes feel like a drag, but when there’s an absolutely stunning panorama (and Netflix), open-air Pilates, great group classes, helpful trainers who speak good English, massages, a sauna, jacuzzi, comfortable changing rooms and even cucumber-infused refreshments, it suddenly sounds all the more appealing. These all await at the Marriott Hotel’s Fitness & Health Club, so if you’re working on that beach body, you’ve just found your gym.

Walking into a five-star hotel on the Danube Corso in your gym gear might sound bizarre but at Budapest’s Marriott Hotel, it is a-okay. The Fitness & Health Club operates on the first floor, welcoming walk-ins as well as hotel guests, providing a vast variety of exercises from Video training to Pilates, TRX and Challenge cutting-edge equipment.

A huge advantage of the gym is that thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, you can not only admire the splendid panorama while using the machines, but also bask in the sunshine. But if you need something else to keep you focused, Netflix and Spotify are also available, as well as the LF Connect app that enables you to keep track of your progress, and challenge others.

The gym is open from 6am to 10pm, while group classes are held between 7am and 9:30pm. If you’re not too sure what AMRAP or Salsatone is, you can read a detailed introduction on the website. No need to register beforehand, you can buy a day- or a month pass at reception, enabling you to use the machines, take part in a group class and use the wellness section (sauna, steam cabin, jacuzzi). It also comes with a card for a locker, a towel and a refreshment.

The trainers all speak good English, so feel free to ask for help or advice. And if you need to reward your muscles after a great workout, apart from soaking in the jacuzzi and melting away in the sauna, you can also opt for various types of massage. If now you can’t wait for a visit – and we highly recommend you try it out – you can find more details on the website, or just get into your gear and go!
