Managed by Hubert Hlatky-Schlichter of Michelin-starred Babel fame, KIOSK has long been a renowned eatery among local diners. Its terrace, providing a pretty panorama over the Danube and Buda beyond, has just been transformed for the summer. Piazza Budapest embodies the dolce vita with freshly baked pizzas and other Italian treats.

Piazza Budapest is a convenient spot for drinking and dining while admiring the views from the Pest embankment. At any one time, the terrace can seat 200 people, who can relax beneath shades deliberately kept free from branding to keep the panorama intact. Instead, retro neon signs on the gates trumpet the dolce vita of legend.

The drinks list features Italian beer, Aperol spritz, Hugo, Rossini, Bellini and Negroni cocktails, prosecco and Lambrusco. All of which are also best enjoyed alfresco overlooking the Danube.

As for the food, you can choose from ten types of pizza, prices stretching between 2,190 and 3,250 forints. Almost all have a tomato base, except for the mushroom varieties that come with truffle cream.

In addition, pasta, antipasti, salads, bruschetta, lasagne and fish dishes also feature. You can finish it all off with a tiramisu, a rum baba or a vodka-lemon colonel sorbet.
