A bistro with an elegantly minimalist style, a big terrace and ever-changing, delicious dishes, amid the beautiful Vártkert Bazár – this is Bazaar Eclectica, basking in a five-star panorama of the Pest skyline and the Danube. All of this is best enjoyed over a lazy lunch, a romantic dinner or even a part of a memorable wedding.

To find Bazaar Eclectica, enter the Várkert Bazár, zigzag up through the garden and climb the steps (or use the two other entrances) to find yourself in a garden right below Buda Castle. Sounds pretty good, right?

Although so far it has mainly been used for special events, this remarkable space is open to all, perfect for wining and dining, even tying the knot with the Chain Bridge in the background. Here you can enjoy dinner in an exclusive atmosphere – prices fall into a higher category but are still more than fair for this kind of quality.

Head chef Ferenc Kántor puts a multicultural menu together and will do the same every season. Some all-time favourites such as schnitzel with fresh dill cucumber salad (3,590 HUF) always feature, but the garnishes, colours and ingredients change according to the time of year.

Being a bistro, the selection is modest, including items such as goose liver pâté with rose marmalade and brioche (3,490 HUF), raspberry cream soup with lemony túrógombóc (Hungarian sweet-cottage cheese dumplings), raspberry marmalade and caviar (1,490 HUF), and rosé duck breast with apple-celery salad and cheesy potatoes (4,190 HUF).

Bazaar Eclectica presents Hungarian flavours in well conceived dishes, so is the ideal destination for that first experience of local cuisine. Perfect for romantic rendezvous, this bistro also suits a family gathering or a private event such as a wedding or a birthday.
