The naked truth on the big screen. This is the theme behind the Budapest International Documentary Film Festival, which will showcase the best recently made movies from around the globe. Between 28 January and 3 February, award-winning films from nearly 30 countries feature, focusing on human fates and on the most burning problems and questions of our age. The festival is English-friendly, most films screening in English or with subtitles.
Between 28 January and 3 February, the Cinema City Aréna will be showing some of the best documentaries from countries as diverse as Macedonia, the Philippines, Bolivia, Lebanon, India and Hungary – just to mention a few. Most will be making their Hungarian premiere at the festival, and all focus on the most important political, social and human questions facing us today.
The films are being presented according to theme, with Oscar nominees and Sundance successes also included. After each screening, the audience can meet and mingle with the creators.
