A fully functional wood-fired sauna installed inside an old minibus will soon be parked at the riverfront Valyo Kikötő by red Rákóczi Bridge on the Pest side. Anyone can book a Scandinavian-style session by the river – all you need to bring is your swimsuit, a towel and flip-flops. A changing room, a cold shower and the panorama are all provided, while an adjacent hut offers hot drinks. The service starts on 5 January, but booking is already available for those who want to secure a sauna before the minibus hits the road again.

The mobile sauna accommodates six people at any one time and can be rented for 90-minute time slots for 15,000 forints. Revenues support  non-profit organisation Valyo, the young team behind the ever-popular Liberty Bridge picnics, whose overall aim is to better integrate the Danube into everyday urban life.
