Although not an established exhibition venue, the Akvárium Klub adds its own unique atmosphere to this display. By day, beams of light filter through the outdoor pool atop the building, dancing around on the pictures, bringing scenes to life.
The most compelling photo of the exhibition and the overall winner is Art & Leukemia by Réka Pávó. This strong and personal shot presents her own battle with cancer. When entering her photo, Réka wrote: “Photographer. Fighter. Currently, I am still battling with leukaemia. I usually wear wigs to imagine what it would be like to be a healthy, long-haired woman”.

At the exhibition opening, Réka expressed that for her, it was a huge honour that her picture was featured at the exhibition, let alone as the overall winner among works by such talented and professional photographers. “I had absolutely no intention to win, I was sure that other people, professionals, could take far better photos of special parts of the world. I wanted to express how I felt and I also got a new wig that day, so I took the photo. I am still refreshing the website all the time to see if it is really my name there. I still can’t believe it.” Réka’s photo tells a story, a strong and inspiring one, the most important aspect of any photograph. It also shows that amateur talent can shine through.
In addition to Réka's contribution, award-winning entries in six categories – Faces, Good Night, Hello Life!, Check-In, Nature and Story Board – and images by three renowned Hungarian photographers are also on display. Noteworthy are The Rainy Day and The Sunny Day by Costin Mocanu, and Caught in a Beam of Light by Wes MW.

The Huawei Mobile Photo Exhibition can be seen during the opening hours of the Akvárium Klub between September 17th and October 1st, and is free to enter.
