During the summertime, instead of spending every night out downtown, sometimes it is worthwhile to leave the hustle and bustle of the urban jungle behind to explore more secluded and laid-back spots outside the city center. Since the cool Colorbar opened at Népsziget, the city's northernmost islet, it has been marked on the ultimate “must be visited” list of Budapest. Now Kabin kicked off as a chilled-out hangout here too, where we can be close to nature and the river while breathing in fresh air and enjoying stunning sunsets over the Danube, all in the company of friends and tasty drinks.

One of the most atmospheric hangouts of Római Shore is Fellini, which has long been a lovely haunt for everyone who loves this picturesque riverfront part of Budapest, and who strives for something more special than the endless and almost identical fish eateries of the Danube shore. Now, the experience of Fellini’s team and the open-mindedness of District IV led to the opening of a cool new hangout, Kabin.

Budapest’s Újpest District boasts a long river shore that, up until this summer, has unfortunately been underutilized; generally there were only a few dog walkers and runners around. Now, however, something new started by the foot of Újpest’s train bridge when Kabin, a cool summertime hangout, opened here enhanced with colorful awnings and comfortable riverside “cabins” for two, where watching sunsets while sipping on delicious drinks is always an amazing experience.
The price of a beer is around 520 forints, and one deciliter of the house wine is 300 forints, but guests can also savour tasty lemonades and syrups. In the near future they will also open an outdoor kitchen to fill the air with the amazing aromas of tasty grilled goods, and to also enable everyone to spend a whole Saturday here without having to leave the island. Kabin is kid- and dog-friendly, and we hope that soon they will also hold musical programs here, as it is definitely a suitable spot for even a small concert. Kabin is found only a 15-20-minute walk away from the “Újpest Városkapu” station of metro line 3, providing a perfect place for a nice night out with friends or to be with a special someone under starry skies.
