More details (in Hungarian) 8pm - 11pm: The Gershwins’ “Porgy & Bess“ on Margaret IslandThe Gershwins’ thrilling jazz opera – performed both on Friday and Sunday at 8pm in English with Hungarian subtitles –

is marked by the complexion of its music and language, making this unmistakably American-flavored work a masterpiece of its genre, as it combines elements of traditional Afro-American jazz, blues, and Native American music. “Summertime”, “I Wants to Stay Here”, “A Woman is a Sometime Thing” – such well-known themes and evergreens performed by outstanding artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong are what this spectacular production is all about. On Friday night, those who flock to Budapest’s beautiful Heroes’ Square can sweat under the starry skies while trying various kinds of sports like running, cycling, zumba, table tennis, yoga, kayaking on the lake in the City Park, and many more. 11pm - 5am: DESPaCITO By DR BRS at Fröccsterasz
Hot Latin tunes turn up the heat, make the heart warm, and get the hips moving at Fröccsterasz on Friday; mamacitas, loca chicas, gasolinas, despacito, Enrique Iglesias, and all kinds of cool Latin tunes shake up the hot atmosphere at Erzsébet Square.
Saturday

9am - midnight Sunday:
Szabihíd by Valyo – Act 2 at the Liberty Bridge

Budapest’s especially statuesque green span once again turns into a car-free public hangout during Saturday and Sunday. Feel free to flock to the bridge beginning on Saturday morning with picnic stuff, bikes, kids, dogs, drinks, friends, or a special someone, and enjoy concerts, screenings, cuddling, and other impromptu artistic events held here as an urban experiment for public-space development that looks back to the spontaneous occupation of the bridge in 2016. See how last weekend turned out on the bridge in this photo essay. 10am - 10pm: CityMatiné s06e04 – A Midsummer Day’s Dream at the Citadel
The mission of this event series is to bring parties out to the sunlight. The venue changes each time, but there are some recurring elements; electronic music, tasty cocktail concoctions, dancing, drinks, muscles, hot chicks, and more.

Ratha-yātrā: Festival of Chariots 2017 – Yoga, mantra, India at City Park

One of the most colorful Indian carnivals of Budapest – The Festival of Chariots – is held in the city on Saturday.

The festive procession starts from Vörösmarty Square at 10am and arrives at City Park at about 1pm, where a rich stage program includes Indian music and dance, drama, presentations, children’s productions, yoga shows, and lectures on self-sustenance and self-assessment, while stalls offer delightful vegetarian and vegan food.

4pm - 2am: Night of Museums at various venuesOn Saturday night you can find out whether museums really do come alive after the sun goes down with the arrival of this year’s Night of Museums, an annual event when various exhibition venues in Budapest stay open until late at night, awaiting culture aficionados with plenty of exciting programs that can all be visited with one all-inclusive wristband. One event we would like to highlight among the exciting programs is the Ludwig Museum’s exclusive film screening of David Lynch: The Art of Life with original English audio and Hungarian subtitles. In the film, the legendary director personally guides viewers through the formative years of his existence.

If you wish to leave the hustle and bustle of downtown behind for awhile, head to ’s cool new Kabin hangout for a chilled-out evening by the riverside. The organizers will make sure that multiple musical genres are represented. The waterfront festivity kicks off with a leisurely hip-hop tea party, followed by a liquid sunset with a hint of jungle atmosphere.
Sunday

2pm - 6pm: Slackline picnic at the
On Sunday, head to this sedate and lesser-known spot after lunch to unwind, meet new people, and try a truly special sport called Slacklining.
Slacklining refers to the act of walking or balancing along a suspended length of flat webbing that is tensioned between two anchors. Don’t worry if you never tried it before, as professional trainers and other eager slackliners are always happy to help. This event is free, however, please don't forget to register in advance.

4pm - 1pm: at Kiskertpiac is an eco-friendly fair of fragrant flowers, plants, bouquets, culinary specialties, and design products. On Sunday, abundant aromatic products and enthusiastic gardeners await everyone with creative inspirations and lots of seeds, as well as cosmetics and sustainable fashion items.

4pm - 10pm: at the Botellón (“big bottle” in Spanish) is typically a nighttime activity when people come together in public areas to socialize while gulping a few glasses of alcoholic wonders. On this special Sunday, Botellón occupies Liberty Bridge. Bring peace, love, food, drinks, kids, and dogs, and the organizers will provide music and an amazing atmosphere.

4pm - : at The longboard skaters of Budapest, the team of I Board Budapest, gathers for the ninth time under in the heart of Budapest to roll on four wheels together.

If you have a longboard and would like to make some like-minded friends, head over to Heroes’ Square on Sunday.

The Graduate at the
“And here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson...” On Sunday evening, Budapest’s beloved Bem Cinema screens the iconic 1967 American drama, The Graduate. In the film, a fresh college graduate, Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman), is trying to avoid the one question everyone keeps asking – What does he want to do with his life? – like we all do... However, an unexpected diversion crops up when he is seduced by Mrs. Robinson, a bored housewife and friend of his parents. But what begins as a fun tryst turns complicated when Benjamin falls for the one woman Mrs. Robinson demands he stay away from, her daughter Elaine.
