The team of Liebling announced a plan to set a world record on July 13 with a goal of making (and drinking) 1,500 liters of "small fröccs". Hungary's renowned Frittmann Winery will provide the aromatic white wine, while the huge tank used for the mixing was offered by the Homonna Vineyard. The intoxicating event kicks off at 6pm, and will last until the last drop of spritzer is consumed. Once all the fröccs is imbibed, the result will be entered into the Book of Guinness World Records. Our editorial team is already preparing for the event, so don’t miss out!

Liebling – a popular hangout in downtown Budapest, which is also known for its cozy terrace space – is preparing for a rather exciting event this Wednesday: they will attempt to break the record for making the World’s Largest Fröccs. To achieve this goal, they will mix 750 liters of white wine with 750 liters of soda water in a 1,500-liter container. But the story doesn’t end there. This oversized concoction won't be left untouched like an exhibition piece, but guests will be welcome to take glassfuls of the drink. That’s where Budapest’s wine aficionados come into the picture.

According to the plans, the authentication is scheduled for 6pm, and from then on, anyone dropping in can taste the drink for free – and more importantly, become part of the world-record attempt. Once the fröccs runs out, the result will be added to the Book of Guinness World Records.

1,500 liters of fröccs might seem like an incredible amount, but it probably won’t last very long. Therefore, if you want to know what a world record tastes like, head over to 51 Akácfa Street on Wednesday! It’s better to plan on staying longer, since right after the event Hungarian DJ Silye Dani will spin the hottest discs, and at 8pm Henri & Daniel from the band Fran Palermo will entertain guests with an acoustic concert.
