Our weekly roundup for the upcoming weekend offers plenty of suggestions for where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed during the next three days. There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – exhibitions, cocktails, live music, festivals, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Friday

1pm - 10pm:

at Millenáris Park The second Beer, Burger & Barbecue Festival – taking place during September 1-4 at Millenáris Park – is about, well, what you’ve already guessed. Budapest’s best street-food eateries will serve traditional and special dishes, while the best local and international artisanal beers will be on tap. Forget about fast-food restaurants and what you’ve eaten there, and find out everything about barbecue, the American way of eating, and everything related to it.

On Friday, be sure to catch the concert of groove-metal squad Ektomorf, noise-rock trio Uzipov, old-school punk-rock legends Auróra, and the Goth On! minifestival, where acts like De Facto or Dying Wish will play.

10am - 10pm:
CityMatiné S05E07 – Yabadabadoo
at NapozóIf you are not familiar with CityMatiné, you probably spent your summers somewhere else – not only because it’s been more than five years since they first organized an open-air gathering, but because they never settled for anything except good music, good vibrations, and good barbecue: they regularly moved to new locations and concepts.

But what hasn’t changed is the triumvirate of Captain Knuckles-Sobek-Monolit, and their mix of endorfintechno and hedonist house, plus the ever-smiling regulars who return from matinee to matinee. Yabadabadoo is their summer-closing party, so you shouldn’t miss out on this!

10am - 11pm: Budafok Champagne and Wine Festival at Budafok-Tétény The biggest free festival of south Buda awaits everyone with plenty of programs and venues at Budafok-Tétény. There will be 18 wine experts, 4 stages, internationally known performers, an artisanal market, exhibitions, and fine music: on Saturday, you can chill out to the blue-eyed folk pop songs of Margaret Island, the bedroom pop tunes of I Am Soyuz, the electro-jazzy joints of Juli Fábián & Zoohacker, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Good vibrations!

He has have made the scene international with heavy online support and headline slots at London’s Night Slugs or Chicago’s Mad Decent Block Party. This will be his first party in Hungary, and we’re sure it will be memorable!
11pm - 6am:

Akkult meets Pluie/Noir with Cleymoore
at Corvin Club Cleymoore is an authentic audiovisual explorer; based in Berlin, the young Portuguese genius balances quite cleverly between the cold, industrial approach, and warm, organic sounds. His uniquely structured productions are dynamic and driving: mystical tunes, hypnotic beats, and finely glitched textures serve to tear the listener out from the space-time continuum. He directs his own label, Pluie/Noir, as a one-man army, mentoring and managing worthy artists worldwide.
