6am - : Contra Mundum x Move – NYE Afterhours at Corvin Club New Year’s Eve’s afterhours B2B pairings will be shaken up by DJ Josko (Giorgia Gatti), who is from Italy but mainly plays in underground clubs at London or Berlin. Everyone is invited to this deep, intelligent journey of electronic tunes, along with Budapest’s best audience.

7. Rabbit Run at Jászai Mari Square
Begin 2016 with a morning-after mini marathon from Jászai Mari Square to MargaretIsland to the Buda side; getting a group picture and then heading to the Pest side (maybe Váci Street and Parliament) before going back to Jászai – this is the rudimentary route, followed by an after party that may feature food and drinks – mostly rum punch. Having a hangover is considered an advantage.
10am - : The Survivor’s Shadow at the Hungarian National Gallery El Kazovsky (1948-2008) was one of the most original and potent Hungarian artists of the late 20th century and turn of the millennium. As a painter, a performance artist, a stage designer and a poet, he left an enormous legacy of works, whose immense vivaciousness and profundity were immediately clear to his contemporaries. This exhibition of close to 400 of his works at the Hungarian National Gallery is intended to offer a more precise art historical picture of everything that El Kazovsky left behind after his untimely passing.
4pm - : Haydn: The Creation – Matinée Concert at Palace of Arts (MüPa) Hear a multi-layered masterpiece enjoyed by young and old alike. Joseph Haydn’s oratorio proclaims the incredible richness of earthly existence, with each passage revealing this miracle to the listener like a picture book – with vibrant colors, great warmth and charm, and humor. One can practically see the birds and slithering creatures coming to life before one’s eyes while the seas, mountains, and rivers are born as God creates the sun, the moon, light, and finally, man. This matinée concert will be conducted by Ádám Fischer, who speaks the language of Haydn as if it were his native tongue.
11pm - : Friday Lust – Welcome 2016 at Tesla BudapestIf you spend the New Year’s first day in Budapest, you’d better come and join the crowd at the very first party of Tesla Budapest.

7pm - : Hungarian Ride For Dime XI.
at Dürer Kert Dimebag Darrel, one of the greatest and most innovative guitar players of all times, who played in Pantera, Damageplan, and Rebel Meets Rebel, passed away on December 8th, 2004. Join this commemoration of him and his work happening each year – this time it will take place in the great hall of Dürer Kert.

Boban Markovic Orkestar at Palace of Arts (MüPa) Boban Marković has achieved everything it is possible to achieve with a band in this corner of the world. For this year’s big New Year’s Concert in Budapest, we can promise nothing but uninhibited and freeimprovisational music-making, where Balkan and other European musical traditions mix together in the music of the Boban Marković Orkestar. Come and be a part of the joyful jam!

Újcirkusz / Gravity & Other Myths (AUS): A Simple Space at Trafó Gravity & Other Myths is a multi-award-winning and well respected Australian acrobatics ensemble that was formed in 2009 in Adelaide. The ensemble creates and directs their own work with emphasis on an honest approach to performance, moving away from traditional circus and theater models, towards a fusion of acrobatic physical theater.
10pm - : Be Massive Presents Hello 2016 – Dandy Four Hour Set at Corvin Club Last year’s successful year-starter party continues. The first Saturday of the year Be Massive will have Dandy aka Peter Makto, who won “Best Hungarian Underground DJ” category four times on Soundhead (2006, 2008, 2009, 2013). It’s hard to categorize his music as he likes to wander between styles like lighter deep house and techno.
11pm - : Artisian Tesco Disco – The Cure Special at Toldi Klub To keep things going after the New Year’s Eve’s hangover, you can be back partying already on January 2nd, as the third Kézműves Tesco Disco will be organized at Toldi. The biggest hits of regular Tesco Disco parties will be left out now; instead, on the occasion of The Cure’s visit to Hungary in 2016, this party will be focused on them.

7.30pm - : Lajkó Félix Solo New Year’s Eve Concert at FonóHe is called the devil’s fiddler, with improvisations that jolt us; we think of him as a modern minimalist composer, but he could easily be the soloist in any classical concerto. In 2009, Félix Lajkó published his album "From the Bush”, and with recent concerts, proves what makes his music so indispensable.
