Hungarian indie stars

If distortion is your middle name and you are in love with bands like Queens of the Stone Age or the Black Angelsthis is what you were looking for. Longtime ruin pub Kuplung on Király Street hosts three of the best bands from the new generation of Hungarian psychedelic stoner/blues rock to catapult you through the stratosphere: Middlemist Red, Run Over Dogs, and Puma Danger. Effect pedals, fuzz, and spaced-out guitar riffs are only the beginning, as after the concerts the band members will stand behind the decks and spin their favorite songs to make sure that the party doesn’t stop.

If you are a fan of guitar-fueled British indie rock and/or poppy electronica, Tesco Disco’s New Year’s Eve Party is your night. Everything can happen there at Corvin Club, from MGMT to The Libertines, from Kasabian to Franz FerdinandTesco Disco is Budapest’s longest-running party series when it comes to this types of style, so you can be sure that even if you don’t know what song is playing, the selection will rock and you will hear your favorite bands sooner or later. Icing on the cake: three outstanding Hungarian bands will rock out with you: Szabó Benedek és a Galaxisok, Esti Kornél, and Kalef.

The Hungarian torchbearers of the ongoing vintage rock revival, Ivan & The Parazol, released their third album – “The All Right Nows” – this year, and it’s packed with psychedelically sexy midtempo jams. If you don’t believe us, well, hear it for yourself on December 31st at G3 Club. Their partners in good-time crime will be the totally crazy Hungarian folk-punk party squad Bohemian Betyars and Lóci Játszik, led by rising singer-songwriter-guitarist Csorba Lóci. After the concerts: DJs until you collapse.

Over the years, the Bladerunnaz crew became a Budapest symbol of quality drum ’n’ bass parties, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they’ll throw one of the biggest New Year’s Eve gatherings for amen breakers. The ruthless sound design, the unashamed drive, and fiery tempered tempos: that’s what the duo behind June Miller love so much about the genre. They were discovered by Renegade Hardware’s legend Loxy and are signed to Andy C's Ram Records – and that means that they are one of the best in what they do. These two names should be already enough to make you drop down to Dürlin, but the organizers also added L Plus and Disaszt to the lineup, together with some Hungarian allstars.

We live only once, but then, we live well.

Fogasház, Fogaskert, Lärm, Schatzi, and Liebling join forces to bring you the ultimate New Year‘s Eve party: a pounding and happy dance floor, an upside-down circus tent, a cigarette-flicking hip-hop funk-shouting contest in the garden, a smiley house party with rolled up pants in our little lobby, where you’ll see the organizing teams of the Madách Square-Toldi axis.
