It’s hard to come up with anything new when it comes to time-lapse videos about Hungary’s capital: Budapest seems to be a muse for many films that show city life in fast forward, with new rapid-paced mini-movies frequently popping up on the Internet. Nonetheless, the one below caught our attention not because it’s shot with a new narrative or focuses on not-so-popular districts, but because it’s an absolutely professional and breathtaking production – some real Budapest-flavored eye candy!

Although the video is merely two minutes long, it features Heroes’ Square, the Parliament, the Chain Bridge, the Citadel, and even City Park’s hooded statue of Anonymous, Hungary’s primary historian.

Throughout it all, we enjoy the whizzing traces of pedestrians, the red-and-white streaks of lights from passing cars, and the speeding clouds above, all providing a quick glimpse into the dynamic spirit of modern Budapest.

The video was made by Russian time-lapse filmmaker and photographer Sergey Tatarinov, whose works are usually too cheesy for our liking – but luckily, this isn’t the case with his fresh depiction of Budapest, even with its rather dramatic musical score. We hope that you enjoy the video as much as we did – perhaps you were one of the pedestrians blurring by the landmark scenery!
