Imagine yourself and thousands of people throwing colorful powder in the air and on each other, and after that having an 11-hour-long party, fueled by the festival feeling of the whole happening. If you like the idea, the Holi Peace Festival on June 12th at Kopaszi Dam is just for you!

But what is Holi Peace? A festival that takes place on the day of the full moon of the Phaluga month, one of the most famous celebrations in the northern parts of India. That's where the Holi powder was thrown into the air for the first time, and since then, tens of thousands of people throw themselves into the cavalcade of colors. The festivalgoers take water, balloons filled with colored water, water pistols, and the aforementioned colored powders with them, so the beginning of the good weather can be properly celebrated, and then everybody throws the magic ingredient into the air or on everybody else, so there aren’t any color-free spots, symbolizing freedom and equality.

What shapes the festival’s philosophy are the principles of tolerance, peace, harmony, and unity, and what makes Budapest’s version unique is that unlike any other Holi Peace Festival in the world, it celebrates these virtues with an unforgettable party. Thousands of people will raise their hands on Friday, when giant ventilators and color cannons will blast tons of Holi powder into the air – and in the meantime, the DJs on the big stage will take the party to an even higher level with their ripping sets. And we are still not done: confetti cannons and fire machines will make the night even more memorable – if that's even possible.

The festival debuted last year thanks to 4BRO and LOOP!

– and for this Friday’s party, they’ve joined forces with World Is Mine. Last June, 5,000 people went crazy at Barba Negra Track, and if you were one of them or if you don’t want to miss out the next one, save the date: June 12th. Some 9,000 people are already planning to attend the event, where top Hungarian DJs (Viktória Metzker, Andro, Bricklake, Jabin Peter) will work the dance floor, and apart from the well-known band Hősök, there will be another surprise performer.

Early-bird tickets for Budapest’s Holi Peace Festival cost 3,000 forints, while they are available for 3,990 forints on the day of the event. The doors of Rio XXL open in the early afternoon and the party lasts until dawn, with powder-throwing at every hour beginning at 8pm. The organizers hope that Shri Malay Mishra, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Hungary, will also join the celebration.
