At the moment it's virtually impossible to imagine that the renovation of one of Buda's most important transport hubs will ever be completed. But the construction works are indeed continuing and we have good news about the iconic clock, that so many were sad had been removed earlier this year. The Szövetség ’39 group has planned a six metre tall, modern-style, cement version that would be placed at the same location as the old much-loved meeting point.
Those that were shocked and/or saddened that the old clock was removed will be particularly happy to see these plans, since the image of the old clock will appear on the new cement block as a shadow. The group is not just planning a standard clock, but an interactive communal point. The clock will be able to communicate with the mobile phones of those passing through Széll Kálmán Squareor indeed those who are waiting by the new clock to meet someone.
