We should eat fruits and veggies every day in order to reach a healthy level of vitamin intake. However, when living amid the city's constant rush, it can be a challenge to actually take a few bites of these healthy greens (and other colors). Vitamins are easier to ingest in liquid form, especially if the healthy drink cools us down and even makes us feel as if we have just enjoyed a dessert. The newly opened Juicy juice bar on Dob Street intends to provide us bustling Budapest residents with beverages made from fresh vegetables and fruits, so that we shall never lack that healthy vigor.

Two young girls, Tímea Mészáros and Dalma Bali, really wanted to start a business together. They did not see any challenge in operating a café, and did not want to jump into the deep water of opening a complete restaurant. They have been paying careful attention to their health for years and follow a vegetarian diet – and naturally, they wanted to steer their joint initiative towards their common interests. They have created a dozen kinds of juices, from the simplest to the more extreme, for refreshments to devour instead of meals, or for desserts. Sometimes they add coconutor almond milk, but they use a lot of citrus as well. So why not work with juices? They have been preparing for the debut of Juicy for months, and now they could finally open the doors to their tiny store – so small that we almost passed this "juicery" next to Frölich Confectionery.

The store is not ostentatious in the least. The teeny place is furnished moderately, with a focus on nectars in the cooled display cabinet. The girls worked on the interior for many nights so that it would have its "countryside" ambience. The whole shop is like a small farm store. Meanwhile, they sell fresh juices and raw-food healthy cakes.

The bottles are decorated with their own stickers, and they also printed some plain paper bags and handbags. So pretty! The graphics were designed by wao.

Customers can sample the juices in small cups before choosing the perfect drink. Currently, we are talking about 20-25 kinds of mixtures, but the daily offers are constantly changing in addition to our favorites. When we visited Juicy, they had ten kinds of fruity smoothies (3 dl from 490 HUF, 5 dl from 790 to 1190 HUF), three kinds of refreshers (3 dl for 690 HUF) made with plant milk (coconut, almond), and four kinds of cleansing waters (5 dl for 490 HUF). In addition to the smoothies and juices, they always have at least two kinds of cake (490 Ft/slice), all raw and completely vegan.

We are really excited about the green juices – we loved the spinach and cucumber versions in our smoothie and lemonade compilation, and fortunately, Juicy also has plenty of beverages of this kind. We already have not one, but four favorites, but do not expect any order of preference, because they are all too good to be ranked. The ones we like the best were the pineapple-pear-spinach-lemon-ginger-green apple, the orange-blood orange-grapefruit-lemon-ginger-cayenne-turmeric, the apple-carrot-beetroot-lemon, and the almond milk-date-vanilla-raw cocoa-Himalayan salt drinks.

For now, the girls are experimenting to find out which concoctions their customers like the best. Afterwards, they will give the drinks some fancy names so that we will not have to type out every ingredient, as seen above.
