CeeLo Green
The five-time Grammy Award-winning American icon is one of the more charismatic male performers; a hit-producing songwriter, exceptional singer, creative producer, and film star. Green conquered the hit charts with his songs; his music is adored by millions, including many Hungarian fans, since the domestic radio stations often play his tracks.
Where? When? Main Stage, 17:45Manic Street Preachers
MSP is one of the nondescript bands of universal popular culture. We all know their diverse and fantastic albums; it is enough to listen to "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next" to let them into your heart. We also know that they do not use the stage to preach and convey their messages, but still take every opportunity to express how they sympathize with the oppressed. The Manic Street Preachers visited the main stage of Sziget two times already, first in 2009, and then in 2011. Now the time has come again for the stage to swim in red light again.
Where? When? Main Stage, 19:30Korn
In the mid-nineties, this band redefined metal music, and since then they sold tens of millions of albums, won two Grammy Awards, and wrote immortal hits, such as Blind, Freak on a Leash, or Falling Away From Me. Their music changed a lot in the new millennium, but the distinctive Korn sounds are eternal and indestructible to this very day, just like the triad of Jonathan Davis, James 'Munky' Shaffer, and Reginald 'Fieldy' Arvizu. The last time they visited Sziget, they destroyed with dubstep-based metallic madness – since then they released a new album under the title "The Paradigm Shift", so their already monstrous repertoire has expanded with other crazy elements.
As a bonus, the band’s former guitarist, Brian 'Head' Welch, returns for this unbelievable gig.
Where? When? Main Stage, 21:30Kelis
The American pop star is in the league of best-selling music artists with her six albums and 31 singles. Kelis, the songwriter-singer who is known for her theatrical onstage productions, celebrates her 35th birthday this August: during her career so far, she was nominated for the Grammy Award twice. With her new album "Food" released this April, she is ready to ease the hunger of the festival crowd looking for high-quality pop music that's rich and diverse.
Where? When? A38 Stage, 21:40Klaxons
Klaxons is an extravagant band, indefinable by traditional genre categories. When making their original works, they mainly mix together post-punk and pop raw materials with psychedelic rock ‘n’ roll. We could describe their style as super-artificial acid-rave-sci-fi punk-funk, or maybe call them the pop theoretic of J. G. Ballard, known for his bizarre, utopian science fiction works.
