The toughest and most famous hip-hop singer of America – more specifically, Seattle – will move thousands of people in front of the Main Stage on Thursday. In addition to Macklemore, the other one responsible for making a crazy party is Lily Allen, who returns to Sziget after five years.

Bastille

Britain’s most recent emerging band of four talented musicians is Bastille. Their name is in French, but they founded the band in the British capital.

Their music expresses the wonderful and harmonious relationship between reason and emotion – it is overwhelming yet not pretentious, engaging and intelligent, and its style stands closest to synthpop. Critics commend their work, and they already left their mark at various British festivals. Their first album, "Bad Blood", is considered one of the best of 2013. They have been nominated for the most important British music award four times this year, and their most original song, Pompeii, is well-known by their Hungarian audience, since domestic radio stations play it rather often.

If we could only see one diva at this year’s Sziget Festival, who would it be? Beyoncé? Hm. Lady Gaga? Hmm-hmm. Miley Cyrus? Hmmm. Every big festival wish list needs a young, talented, and extravagant pop goddess who brings together the audience – she should be attractive, cool, pitch perfect, and so on. Lily Allen is exactly this kind of a character.

It has been five years since she last visited us and stole our hearts with her directness, honest charm, and memorable show. She is sure to do everything in her power to wrap us around her fingers again – the least we can expect from her is giving us a taste from her upcoming third solo album.

Where? When? Main Stage, 19:30Irie Maffia

Irie Maffia was founded in 2005 and grew into one of the best concert bands of Hungary in a rather short time. No wonder, since new-generation favorites are concentrated on the front line of the band, mashing together reggae, hip-hop, rock, and funk: the Ghanaian-Hungarian singer Sena, MC Columbo with the most original Jamaican reggae voice, and the rap star MC Busa.

Macklemore is one of the most celebrated, brightest-shining hip-hop stars in America at the moment; a real hotshot whose popularity is closer to heaven than earth. He has millions in his fan base, which is no wonder: he has an overwhelming style and is a charismatic rap icon, who is extremely chill, yet an extremely professional artist, whose talent was affirmed by several professional awards, including four Grammies. He has an excellent sense for producing hits – with some exaggeration, he is simply not able to create something that will not jump on top of charts right away. His clips start with millions of views on video-sharing sites, and his name is there on the wish list of every international festival. He is Ben Haggerty, or as the whole world calls him: Macklemore.

Where? When? Main Stage, 21:30The Carbonfools

Their music is a clever mixture of irony, an electronic backbone, and live instruments. They made their debut album, "Poisoned Goulash", in 2004, and their second album, "Carbon Heart", in the fall of 2008; by then, singer Balázs Fehér was already part of Carbonfools. The five-member band is a constant performer at the largest domestic festivals, but they are also well known in Western Europe – two years ago, for example, they performed with the Dreadzone in Great Britain. Their latest album came out in 2012, under the title "Carbonsweet".

Where? When? Petőfi Radio - VOLT Festival Stage, 21:50Stromae

The Belgian singer and songwriter of Rwandan ancestry is a real oddball, a charismatic individual who mixes his hits from electronic, hip-hop, Eurodance, and traditional African music. His works are very popular in the Francophone world, his talent was recognized by important music awards, and several international stars noticed the Stromae phenomenon lately. He created two studio albums so far, and took millions to the dance floor with his songs Alors on danse and Papaoutai.
