Ever wondered what a cappella versions of your favorite (Hungarian) songs would sound like? Here's your chance to find out.

Budapest Voices is a perfect a capella choir made up of highly distinguished and refined voices, performing songs by the most popular rock, metal and crossover bands. You might call them the Hungarian Nouvelle Vague, but they are more than that – vocal harmonies and Hungarian musical heritage in a whole new form, and a lot more! If you know the original songs, that's why you should attend; if you don't know them... well, that's why you should come and see one of the most original and refreshing projects Hungary has produced lately.Northern Soul & Mod Party @ Beat on the Brat, 22:00.
This Friday, the selectors at BOTB go deep inside the '60s again with the best mod, beat, motown, and northern soul tunes of the decade.

Northern Soul is a music and dance movement that emerged independently in Northern England, the English Midlands, Scotland and Wales in the late 1960s from the British mod scene. Northern Soul mainly consists of a particular style of black American soul music based on the heavy beat and fast tempo of the mid-1960s Tamla Motown sound. Think of artists like Barbara Mills, Tony Clarke, Gloria Jones, Dean Parrish, or the O'Jays, and you've got it. DJs:

Gasman, Jehova, Viage, Maugly.Fish!, Proof Of Life @ Barba Negra Track, 19:00.
Everybody's favorite hardpop band will celebrate its fifteenth birthday with a great concert and, of course, a cake. Partyrock is in the Track this night!

Fish! is the best example how to meld together funk, metal, rock, and whatever else into a uniquely fresh and powerful popmix. After many changes, the band (formed back in '99) has ended up in its present form of four musicians.

They regard as their masters Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smash Mouth, Incubus and others. Even though they get better and better with every album they release, they aren't a band who likes to stay in the studio, preferring time spent onstage going crazy with all their fans. This isn't only the band's fifteenth birthday, but the birthday of their guitarist too – so make sure you throw some cake at them.SaturdayThe Black Lips, Middlemist Red @ Akvárium, 20:00.
This garage hasn’t been cleaned out since the days of the Sonics. The grimy songs by these guys from Atlanta will immediately spirit you away to the brazen psychodelic '60s.

The Black Lips are considered by many to be one of the best live bands in the world, which is great news for us since soon we can see it for ourselves in Hungary. The garage punk group from Atlanta has everything that makes punk and rock ’n’ roll beautiful: deviancy, self-destruction, and brutally cool songs; what's more, here they will perform songs from their new album titled "Underneath the Rainbow", released in March. Prepare yourselves for happenings on the stage that our parents used to protect us from when we were children. Before the Americans, Middlemist Red will mix psych rock with heavy bluesy riffs. The Flamenco Thief @ MÜSZI, 22:00.
Craig Sutton plays flamenco on his acoustic guitar, but there's a twist – he has a loop station! So he repeats the stuff he played and improvises on it, recording and repeating the whole thing. Classic and contemporary at the same time!

Specializing in playing fast rhythmic guitar, Craig Sutton has earned a reputation for mesmerizing live performances by using a Spanish acoustic guitar with the Boss RC loop pedal to blend modern rhythms with time-honored flamenco techniques.

His compositions revere flamenco’s heritage while embracing music technology, and as a result each song is delicately poised between the classical and contemporary.

Craig’s early influences of ska, hip-hop and Gypsy swing are evident throughout his music, helping him craft a catalogue of songs that are intelligent but accessible.Budapest Jungle Summer Edition @ Corvintető, 22:00.
The name says it all: a hot summer night with the best Hungarian drum 'n' bass and jungle DJs, and the greatest hits of the genre.

Fast tempos (150 to 170 bpm), breakbeats, and other heavily syncopated percussive loops or samples, long pitch-shifted snare rolls, reggae and dancehall elements: that's what jungle is about. Altough the golden era of the genre is over, there is an up-and-coming generation of musicians who haven't forgotten about it and are bringing it back to the mainstream by softening it a bit and making it sound even more futuristic. The music made by Shy FX, True Playaz, Wilkinson, and Sub Focus is often labelled as future jungle. If you want to know more about the past and future of this drum 'n' bass-related genre, this is your night! DJs:
Chris.SU, Klay, IAN Autorun, Mentalien. All In Showcase Budapest: Ion Ludwig, Forsek, Polarize @ R33, 23:30.
Ion Ludwig's sound is dark, changing, freaky, raw and melodramatic – minimal techno with complex melody arrangements and pop influences.

Influenced by artists like Ricardo Villalobos or Matthew Herbert, it isn't a surprise that Ion Ludwig ended up as one of the bigest names in minimal techno. He released his music at labels like Lick My Deck, Ugold or Resopal – just to name a few. As a musician, he fuses all his ideas and influences into one ingeniously compelling sound which is freaky and sexy, minimalistic and melodramatic at the same time. Spending nearly a decade behind the decks and spinning vinyls all around the world, he has everything to make this night unforgettable. Don't say we didn't warn you!SundayPöttömkert - When Kids Rule Budapest Park @ Budapest Park, 10:00.

An all-day program for youngsters with a design and book market, children's yoga activities, and a lot more!

For a day, Budapest Park will turn into a peewee playhouse, where everything is about big fun for young'uns!

Check out the book and design market, children's yoga activities, and the concert of Eszter-lánc fabula band – these are just few of the programs.

Kiddies can also attend a special show with police cars. If you are planning to spend some time with your family during the weekend, here is the ideal program.Kolor Kinema & Mozinet: Frank screening, Mayberian Sanskülotts @ kolor, 20:00.
"A faceless Michael Fassbender stars in this weird and wonderful musical comedy from director Lenny Abrahamson." Do we need to say more about why do you need to see Frank?

Jon (Domhnall Gleeson) is a young wannabe musician who finds himself out of his depth when he joins an avant-garde pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Michael Fassbender), a musical genius who hides himself inside a large fake head, and his terrifying bandmate Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal).

Lenny Abrahamson's new film is basically a big group hug from the oddballs – and now you can watch it only three days after its Hungarian premiere shown in its original language with Hungarian subtitles.
Mayberian Sansküllots walks the path of cultic Hungarian lo-fi groups like Trabant. Folk music, dream pop, do-it-yourself mentality, broken hearts and dreams: a really charismatic singer.Wombo Orchestra @ A38 Ship, 19:30.
Imagine an Afro-jazz-punk big band influenced by Rage Against The Machine, King Crimson, Queen, and Fishbone:

Wombo Orchestra is responsible for some of the most memorable Hungarian concerts.

With their horn bells sticking out from the windows of the caravan at the sound of the faintest rhythmical signal, the Wombo Orchestra is a family... and you don't need to open your eyes to see it. Their overflowing energy explodes from all sides and sets everybody's neck in motion. The message is for the heart's knees and the soul's thighs. Whether they're in the street or on the stage, the Wombos depict their musical universe through brass band arrangements and make us discover music that we thought we already knew. The percussive trance is aroused by powerful, saturated, and compact horns. To top it all off, the melodic and feminine vocals add the final multicolored touch to the paintings through a furious megaphone.
