Banff in Budapest – tickets now on sale for the world’s best adventure films
Action-packed documentaries and the world’s best adventure films are coming to Budapest. Tickets go on sale from 12 March for the Banff Mountain Film Festival, an adrenaline-pumping cinematic event taking place from 10 to 12 April. Heart-racing movies shot on dramatic cliff-faces, snow-capped summits and below the waves will grace the screen of the festival’s regular location, the Corvin Cinema.
Have you ever imagined what mountain biking is like on Kathmandu’s chaotic streets? Climbing El Capitan with limited mobility? Or setting out on a six-month ski traverse across Canada? Some daredevils went for and even filmed these challenges. These documentaries are now brought to Budapest audiences by the upcoming Banff Mountain Film Festival.
Nine movies of varying lengths will be screening over three days, most showing with original English audio and with Hungarian or, when required, English subtitles. Tickets to see these intrepid escapades are available at the Corvin Cinema from 3pm today and online from its website.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival is an international cinematic competition and annual presentation of short films and documentaries about mountain culture, sports and the environment. Launched in 1976, the festival takes place every autumn in Banff, Alberta. The selection of the best films entered for the festival then goes on tour around the world. An annual stopover includes Budapest, featuring guest speakers and various indoor sporting activities.
