Discover new worlds at spectacular Budapest Circus show
An adventurous new show at Budapest Circus leaves behind the clichéd routines and tired storylines to take the audience, young and old, on a journey around the world. Running until September 9th, ‘Atlantic Flight’ is a globetrotting odyssey of thrills, skills and a spectacular light display, with waves, waterfalls and fountains all thrown in. Taking us through the clouds to land in thick jungle and Arctic tundra is a fearless pilot aided by a team of charming stewardesses. Underlining the whole event is the traditional circus artistry that has entertained generations of Hungarians for nearly 130 years.
Founded in 1889 and housed at a permanent landmark site by the zoo alongside City Park, Budapest Circus has always been at the forefront of global trends in the genre.
With a long-earned reputation that helps attract the finest exponents of daredevilry from Russia, the Far East and beyond, this revered institution usually stages two or three blockbuster shows a year.
Such is ‘Atlantic Flight’. The story starts with a little boy who dreams of being able to zoom around the world and see all the things he can only read about in picture books.
Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, our brave traveler is climbing skyscrapers and running along the Great Wall of China, leaning up against the Leaning Tower of Pisa and exploring the Arctic wastes. En route, he meets locals of all stripes, who lead him into uncharted waters.
