Budapest Essentials Festival: thankful photos!
With a goal of bringing people closer to special urban spaces and buildings of Hungary’s capital, the citywide Budapest Essentials Festival hosts varied events and parties at remarkably historic locations – including World Heritage sites – during June 25-28. Along with these happenings, the festival’s #köszibudapest campaign strives to paint an image of modern urban Budapest with the help of people and places that convey the diversity of Hungary’s capital.
We have innumerable reasons to be thankful for being in the Magyar metropolis – we are grateful for its fun-loving spirit, the renewal of public spaces, the childrens’ chatter resonating from the Budapest Zoo, the buzz of Kazinczy Street, the coffees and hamburgers, the mural-decorated firewalls, the Art Nouveau and communist-era buildings, and so much more. People also play an essential role in the life of Budapest, such as actors, musicians, designers, and artists, along with the elderly men playing chess at Széchenyi Bath, the families having picnics in the parks, or the youngsters meeting up in Madách Square.
In the frame of the #köszibudapest campaign, a special photo project captures distinctive characters of Budapest, who were asked to share their thoughts and stories of the city. The photos will be exhibited at the Budapest Essentials Festival center on Margaret Island throughout the events happening June 25-28. Here’s a short clip about the shoot:
