Tuesday, July 11, 2017 — We Love Budapest

As water-sports athletes and fans flood into Budapest from near and far for the FINA World Championships happening here at multiple locations between July 14th and August 20th, We Love Budapest has issued an extra edition of our Insider guide to provide comprehensive FINA venue and timetable information, along with plenty of insider tips for making the most of a visit to Hungary’s capital and the FINA events at Lake Balaton. In addition to the FINA-related content, this special booklet also contains a selection of helpful articles from our recently released spring-summer 2017 Insider guide.

Following up on the recent publication of our spring-summer 2017 Insider guide – an English-language biannual guidebook providing timely tips for Budapest sightseeing, dining, shopping, nightlife, and more – we produced this special Insider FINA edition to help the thousands of international aquatic athletes, coaches, fans, and other FINA participants enjoy their time in Hungary to the fullest, both here in the capital city and in Balatonfüred, where FINA’s open-water swimming competition is held.

Along with comprehensive information about the four Budapest FINA venues – the Danube Arena, the Alfréd Hajós swimming complex on Margaret Island, the temporary high-diving pool at Batthyány Square, and the temporary synchronized-swimming pools at City Park – and also at Lake Balaton, as well as complete timetables for the competitions, the FINA Insider contains several articles providing tips for where to eat nearby the FINA action, where to sightsee around Balatonfüred, and where to watch the matches live on big screens outside of the FINA venues.

Beyond the useful FINA info, this publication – released in both an English version and a Hungarian version – also contains a selection of articles from the fresh spring-summer 2017 Insider guide, with detailed suggestions for where to sightsee, eat, party, and more, along with several Explainer articles providing brief background information about unique attractions of the Magyar metropolis.

Copies of the special Insider FINA edition – created in partnership with the Hungarian Tourism Agency – are available for free while supplies last at multiple locations citywide, including at the Tourinform office within the Budapest Airport, at the Parliament Visitor Center, at the ticket counter of the Dohány Street Synagogue, at the Budapest Eye, at the Castle Hill Funicular, at Szimpla Kert, and at 360 Bar, while many of the city’s prime hotels, prominent museums, thermal baths, and private-transportation companies also offer complimentary copies of the Insider for urban dwellers.
