If we follow the river and walk southwards, we reach the Roosevelt Square and the Chain Bridge. Here stands the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, which is the most prestigious scientific institution of the country. It was founded in 1825 to develop the Hungarian language and to provide a platform to a higher level of scientific and public dialogue. The building was designed in neo-Renaissance style and was opened in 1865, the architect, Miklós Ybl has made numerous other remarkable buildings in the city such as the Buda Castle or the Opera House.
