Elizabeth bridge was built in 1903. It connects downtown Pest and the footsteps of Gellért Hill with a beautiful white cable structure. It has a sad story. In the Second World War Nazis bombed all bridges of Budapest to slow down the Soviets during the siege of Budapest. Elizabeth Bridge was also a victim. However it was rebuilt in 1964, but not in the original designs, so today we can see the old bridge only on photos.
