The best outdoor places in Budapest
The pub crawls, the chilling in the open air, the meeting and talking is the most highlighted program for the locals in Budapest during the summer.
WeLoveBudapest that is, we fell in love with the Hungarian capital. We love its awakening, its forgotten secrets, its hidden, lovable corners, and street-signs having old memories. The WeLoveBudapest website is eager to share and introduce you the smiles and winks of locals.
We'd like to speak to anyone; tourists, expats, and curious locals who believe that the glory of Váci Street, Goulash and Gypsy music is waning, and Budapest has 'more cards up its sleeve'!
I love Budapest because the irresponsible, carefree vibe of freedom oozes from its every brick. I love its bittersweetness, its womanish pride, and its sour sense of humor.
Budapest is sleepy in the morning, busy during the day, and comes to life at night. It’s an oversized village disguised as a capital filled with charm, lights, and boundless temperament. Why do I love Budapest? Because we get along well. I tip my hat to its sense of humor.
♥ Telep, Avar pub, Donáti utca
I remember a Budapest from my childhood. It was enormous, and I was amazed by its sights – Heroes’ Square, the Zoo, the Citadel, Andrássy Avenue – I was gazing at through the car window. Now that I call Budapest my home, it feels a lot smaller, although I still haven’t discovered all of its secrets. What I really love about Budapest is that it’s full of people who inject life into the city’s winding veins.
Budapest has beautiful women, delicious goulash, folk-patterned sausages, and irony blooming all year long. It’s an ambivalent, mercurial city that evokes emotions from everyone, including myself. Although I get angry at Budapest every once in a while, it always manages to soothe my soul.
♥ Mansfeld Péter-park, Garzon, The playground at the foot of Buda Castle
If Budapest was a person, she would be the perfect wife: she makes me feel at home, she’s inspiring, free-spirited, life-loving – someone you could fall in love with again and again.
♥ Batthyány tér, Riding bus no. 7 on Elizabeth Bridge, Szimpla Kert
Budapest is ever curious and ever playful. It changes quickly and frequently. I love getting lost here... It leads to some of the best things and places.
♥ Top of the Buda Castle tunnel, Ötkert, Bocanova Restaurant
I believe Budapest happens to be very lucky for where it is, how beautiful it is, and how history shaped it into what it is today – a place full of stories to tell, but with a lot of potential for a lot more. It has been my home since I was a child, and quite frankly I'd like to keep it this way.

♥ A38, Városliget, Fogasház
I love Budapest because it’s just as moody as its residents. The city’s style hasn’t matured yet, though it certainly has a distinguishable personality conjured from Western elegance and Eastern virtue. Its constant development is hard to notice, so we tend to accentuate its faults and neglect its many values.
