The only thermal bath that has been in operation since 1520. Since then Rudas has undergone numerous redecorations and reconstructions, but this is the oldest traditional, historic bath in the city. Rudas is located at the foot of the rocky Gellért Hill, at the Hungária, Attila and Juventus springs. During the Ottoman occupation of Hungary the Turkish bath was built and the medical bath was added only at the end of the 19th century. Since 1936 Rudas has been opened only for men (on Tuesdays women are also welcome). The entrance is not redecorated yet, but if you go inside you’ll find a totally reconstructed, original Turkish bath with an octagonal swimming pool, a Turkish dome and relaxing lights. However it is not the most visited, Rudas offers you an ultimate thermal experience.
