Dos and don'ts on Valentine's Day

2012. 02. 08.

Despite the fair number of people who associate the upcoming Valentine’s Day with negative feelings, no one can escape the flood of promotions and presents that comes with it. Whether you’re going to observe 14 February or not, it won’t hurt to take our pieces of advice. Know what to do and what to avoid on the holiday of lovers.

Dos: Devote as much time as possible to those who are important to you throughout the year. If you crave for some romance, seek out one of the many places in Budapest far from malls and fast-food restaurants. You yourself should make the perfect present, or at least surprise your partner with something that is meaningful only to them. Sure, you can borrow some inspiration but the following days might also reveal some hints as to what your partner wants. Look out.

Don’ts: Don’t get agitated by the mere existence of this holiday, even if you deny it. Instead, ignore the crazy shop-windows, offers and cuddling couples and celebrate those who are called Valentine. Don’t panic if you’re not head over heels on the holiday of love, there are still, like, 320 days for that arrow of Cupid to hit you. Anyway, don’t spend this wonderful winter night on your own, get together with your friends.
