János Hill, with its 526 meters, is the highest point in the city. This is also a favorite destination among hikers, mountain bikers, runners, nordic walkers and families. On top of János Hill stands the Erzsébet Lookout or the Belvedere tower from where you can observe a breathtaking panorama throughout the year. In clear weather you can look around in an 80 kilometer diameter, locals say sometimes even as far as the peaks of the High-Tatra are visible. The stone tower was built in 1910 and back then, it was the largest of its kind in Europe.
