Our weekly roundup for the upcoming weekend offers plenty of suggestions for where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed during the next three days. There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – exhibitions, parties, live music, festivals, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

8am - 8pm: VinCE Budapest Wine Show at the Corinthia Hotel Budapest
The VinCE Budapest Wine Show welcomes a bibulous crowd at the prestigious Corinthia Hotel Budapest during March 17-19, where altogether 160 international and Hungarian exhibitors showcase their best reds, whites, and sparkling wines, as well as Magyar-made pálinkas amid an exclusive and elegant atmosphere.

10am - : Bach in the Subways at various venues

To honor the memory of Johann Sebastian Bach, talented musicians flood the streets of many major cities around the day of his birthday every year, performing his beautiful pieces at public squares and in metro stations for free. In Budapest, The Great Market Hall, the metro stations of Astoria and Kálvin Square, Szimpla Kert, and the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden will all be transformed into unique urban venues for melodious free gigs from Friday to Sunday.

6pm - : PaintCocktail at Szimpla Kert
At PaintCocktail’s next event, you can replicate Van Gogh’s “Almond Blossom” with the help of a skilled English-speaking artist, while sipping on cool cocktail concoctions amid an easygoing and encouraging ambiance at one of Budapest’s most iconic ruin pubs, Szimpla Kert.

7:30pm - 9:30pm: Friday Night Bounce! – Free Improv Student Showcase and Open Jam at Müszi
Hosted by the Red Ball Theater – a Budapest-based artistic community that offers English-language stage-performance courses and presents various improvisation acts in the city – impromptu plays entertain guests at Müszi, as local talents take the stage with no pre-discussed plan to preform a 30-minute comedy show to the audience. More details
